Brazilian vs. Bikini Wax: What's the Difference?

    By Mary Hegedus·2026-08-30

The difference between a Brazilian and a bikini wax comes down to how much of the bikini and intimate area is included. It is a common question, especially for first-time waxing clients, so here is a clear breakdown of each option.

What Is a Bikini Line Wax?

A Bikini Line wax is a clean-up service for the outer edges only. It removes the hair that would show outside a standard swimsuit or underwear line for a neat, smooth result. If you just want a tidy finish without removing much hair, this is usually the right starting point.

    What Is Bikini Full?

Bikini Full is a more in-depth bikini wax focused on the front of the pubic mound and bikini line. It removes more hair than a Bikini Line service but still focuses on the front area rather than a full removal.

    What Is a Brazilian Wax?

A Brazilian Wax is a more complete intimate waxing service that removes hair from the front, back, and everything in between. It is the most thorough of the three options and is popular with clients who want a cleaner, smoother result with less shaving upkeep.

How Long Should Your Hair Be Before Waxing?

Hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long, which is roughly the size of a grain of rice. This allows the wax to properly grip and remove the hair from the root. If the hair is too short, the wax will not be able to pull it cleanly.

What Should First-Time Waxing Clients Expect?

First-time waxing clients are always welcome. The environment is professional and one-on-one, and I will guide you through the process so you know what to expect. Waxing removes hair from the root, so some temporary redness or sensitivity can occur afterward. That is normal and usually settles within a short time.

    What About Men's Intimate Waxing?

Men may book waxing services. Men's intimate waxing is approval-only before booking. Approval may be met through one approved option, such as valid ID, referral from a current client, already being a current waxing client, or bringing a female chaperone. Do not book men's intimate waxing without approval.

If you also want external bikini-area skincare between waxing appointments, that is a separate service. A Vajacial is an external skincare treatment for post-wax upkeep and smoother-looking skin, and it does not include hair removal.

Ready to Book Your Waxing Appointment?

Choose the area you want treated and book the service that fits your maintenance routine. Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long before your appointment.
